Over the last 10 years, Israel has positioned itself as one of the leading ecosystems for Artificial Intelligence startups. The number of newly founded Israeli startups that employ Artificial Intelligence has raised over the years and so has the capital they have raised.

Our analysis shows 1,042 active AI companies in Israel as of June 2020. In 2019, over 150 AI companies were established in Israel representing between 15–25% of all startups founded in 2019.

Israel is a global reference in computer vision and mobility related startups. Proof of this are Apple’s acquisition of Primesense for $350 million in 2011, the acquisition of Waze by Google for $1 billion in 2013, the acquisition of Mobileye by Intel in 2017 for $15.3 billion, or this year’s Moovit acquisition by Intel at an approximate $1 billion to name a few.

Our team has created an updated AI landscape map of Israel using multiple databases, and our firm’s own proprietary deal flow database. The data on exits and funding was extracted from IVC and Meitar’s 2019 exit reports.
